CrossFit

Each workout is carefully planned to make sure we are consistently covering all the 10 components of fitness. These are; flexibility, endurance, strength, stamina, power, speed, agility, balance accuracy and coordination.

Our 60 minute coached classes consist of a warm up, a strength or gymnastics session and then the daily conditioning workout or Workout of the Day (WOD).

Our daily workouts consist of 2 streams suitable for everyone –

Fitness which is CrossFit minus the technical, high skill and heavy heavy things and  Performance – CrossFit

Generally our workouts are short and intense but there is the occasional longer workout thrown in every now and again.

All classes are specifically designed so they can be scaled to any level of ability or limitation, if needed.

On Saturday mornings we usually mix it up a bit with a partner or team workout… these are lots of fun while still giving you an awesome workout!

Our CrossFit classes are programmed by FarNorth CrossFit owner and Head Coach, Ness Lawgun

OUR CLASSES:

Barbell Class: These classes are designed to help improve your technique and strength with a barbell.  We concentrate on a certain lift each day – Mon- Snatch; Weds- Clean and Jerk and Friday- Powerlifting and Bodybuilding.  Each class also includes a barbell based wod to increase your CrossFit efficiency.

Oly Club/Teen Oly: These training times are for the members of Northland Olympic Weightlifting Club: Senior lifters train Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and Teen Lifters train after school Tues and Thurs as well as Saturday morning. FastFit: This is a high energy 45-minute class that blends a fast-paced cardio workout with high intensity interval and resistance training. This class is perfect for the athlete looking for a non-stop, action-packed 45min of exercise, without the heavy weightlifting and high skill gymnastics. The main focal points in FastFit are cardio, muscle tone, flexibility and agility training.

Open Gym: This is an opportunity for athletes to come in and either work on strength, practice gymnastics or weightlifting skills, mobilise or even catch up on a WOD they may have missed during the week. These classes are free for all members.

Northland Olympic Weightlifting members train at the same time as the regular CrossFit classes, in their own space.
